FaBiKli is a joined project implemented by Unabhängiges Institut für Umweltfragen e.V. and Technische Universität Berlin funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action within the National Climate Initiative (NKI) and the Nature Conservation Department of the district of Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.
In the Fabikli project, amongst other plants scarlet runner beans (Phaseolus coccineus) are utilized to green school buildings in a vertical manner. The students are actively involved in the planting, cultivation of plants, and harvesting process. Additionally, they participate in further workshops where they gain practical insights into how topics such as climate adaptation, climate change, biodiversity, and energy are interconnected.
